Burgundy Is Everywhere, And I’m Loving It
Burgundy and deep shades of red have always been some of my favorite colors to work with. So whenever a client tells me they want burgundy, deep red, or anything in that rich color family, I immediately get excited.
And lately, it feels like the rest of the design world has caught up. Burgundy, deep red, plum, purple, and chocolate brown are everywhere right now, from fashion and interiors to weddings and events.
Even the new iPhone 18 Pro has finally arrived in burgundy, a color I’ve been waiting for Apple to release for years. For me, that’s just another sign that burgundy is having its moment.
What I especially love is that these deeper shades are no longer being treated as strictly “fall colors.” I’ve been seeing more red and purple together lately, and I love how combinations that once felt unexpected are becoming more confident and expressive.
In floral design, burgundy gives us so much to work with. Deep red roses, burgundy amaranthus, dahlias, scabiosa, anthuriums, orchids, and foliage can create completely different moods depending on what we pair them with.
Burgundy + red feels rich and dramatic.
Burgundy + plum or purple feels unexpected and a little fashion-forward.
Burgundy + chocolate brown is warm and sophisticated.
And adding a little soft pink, cream, or green can completely change the mood again.
After so many seasons of white and neutral weddings, I’m ready for more color.
And if a client comes to me asking for burgundy flowers, they already have my attention.
Dreaming of burgundy for your wedding or event? I’d love to help bring it to life.
